Para la medición de la retención y el progreso de nuestros clientes hemos adaptado el concepto del análisis de cosechas, utilizado comúnmente en el sistema bancario para la medición de los riesgos de crédito. En nuestro análisis de cosechas, la fecha del primer crédito otorgado a un cliente determina a que cosecha pertenece el cliente. Así por ejemplo, si su primer crédito fue otorgado en agosto del 2008, el cliente pertenece a la cosecha del 3er trimestre del 2008, independientemente de cuantos créditos haya recibido posteriormente. Una vez clasificados a los clientes por cosecha analizamos la evolución en el tiempo de una serie de indicadores de cada cosecha de clientes.

La tasa de retención de clientes es el porcentaje de clientes de cada cosecha que permanece como clientes luego de 1, 2 y 3 años como clientes. Para la medición del progreso de nuestros clientes recurrentes analizamos la evolución de indicadores financieros: activos, ventas, y utilidad neta de sus negocios luego de 1 año, 2 años o 3 años como clientes. En el siguiente gráfico apreciamos al cierre del 2013, la evolución de un índice de la mediana de las ventas del negocio para los clientes de las cosechas del 2011 y 2013, luego de 2 y 1 año como clientes, respectivamente.
