Spanish term

plaquetas 141 x1000/µL,

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) UTI post renal transplant
Hello,

I have translated quite a number of laboratory test results, but have not come across this measurement before. How does this translate into English?
Laboratorio:
Hemograma: hematíes 3.98 xmill/µL, plaquetas 141 x1000/µL, leucocitos 8.7 x1000/µL

Thank you!

That's 141,000 per microliter. It's a parameter on a complete blood count.

neutral Joseph Tein : Hi Jason. Good to know this. I've never seen it presented like that before, either ... and I've also translated many of these. Thanks.

It's really just based on the way the cytometer prints it out. Normally you would just say 141 and the physician would understand that it means 141,000. However, if you look at the fine print on the lab slip, it indicates that it refers to thousands.
agree Otto Albers (X) : Curious: what country is this from. Never seen it expressed in those units.

Platelets are normally expressed in number per microliter. Any value over 200,000 is normal, though most lab slips exclude the last 3 zeroes.
