third-rail poisoning
Hello everyone! ¡Hola proZ.comlegas!
cause death: third-rail poisoning
third-rail poisoning:
poisoning caused by ***third rail*** (a slang term for very strong alcohol).
This is part of a "humorous" forensic statement…
Any idea on how to say this in Spanish, keeping the slang register?
(I am doing my own research, but I throw this "fish" on the table, for any additional inspiration or good data on the matter…) (To begin with, I have not a clue why is it called "third" or "rail", nor what that has to do with the price of fish…) (Talking about fish… "causa de la muerte: envenenamiento por merluzón", where "merluzón" stands for "gran merluza" or "big situation where one got plastered" or "got sozzled" in a big way…)
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
¡mmm! "cogorza"… "del latín vulgar "confortiare", celebrar un banquete fúnebre… how fitting! ;-)
Type of situation: informal lecture
Country and dialect: European Spanish. (Iberian Peninsula...) (Welcome as well any "Universal Spanish" versions)
Context: After the funeral at the cementery, lowering the casket into the grave...
(At any rate, "always look at the bright side of life... and death" as the song goes...)

Note from asker:
¡Excelente opción, Beatriz! Muchas gracias.

Note from asker:

¡Saludos y buen finde! |
Discussion
However, I don't see (yet) how to make it work in Spanish...
