Russian term or phrase: в четверть вышины
From a 19th century short story describing a scene inside a Gypsy tent.

В глубине, подле телеги, была вырыта небольшая круглая ямка, над которою стоял столик, всего в четверть вышины.

A quarter of what?

Thanks in advance.

English translation:hardly more than half a foot
Explanation:
It's 1/4 of an arshin, which was equivalent to 28 inches or 71 cm. Hence 28 inches divided by four, which is 7 inches. That's why I would suggest "hardly more than," as against simply "half a foot."
