I think there's a very sort of real excitement about Tech technology in general and certainly in sort of technology and startups. We've got the last few months, last couple of weeks, we had Microsoft buying LinkedIn, Boom the whole is almost like the gun has fired again, hasn't it? It is very interesting to see. Do you guys feel that there's a real optimism right now apart, obviously let's leave Brexit aside for now but in terms of technology and startups because we're now looking at a future way where, you know, your car's going to be driving for you, your Tessler will be driving for you, your shopping will be delivered by drone, you name it. Are you feeling optimistic about these kinds of things or are you feeling that there's going to be a reckoning in other ways ?

ça va nous tomber dessus
I believe this is the general sense in which 'reckoning' is to be used here — there is going to be a 'settling of accounts'.
Cf. 2 relevant entries from R+C which might help a little:
the day of reckoning (Religion) : le jour du Jugement
the day of reckoning can't be far away ( figurative use ) : un de ces jours ça va lui (or nous etc.) retomber dessus
In other words, though we may benefit from all this technology now, sooner or later we're going to get paid back for it in one way or another.
Perhaps even 'on va avoir un règlement de comptes'?

Thanks to the peer commenters who have pointed out the slip in my headword answer — it should of course have been retomber dessus.
Between checking the dictionary article and actually typing my suggestion, I got distracted and left off the re- by mistake.
