Italian term

non rinuncia certo a definirne di proprie

Italian to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
In the same passage from the same Zavagno article. I'd be grateful for any help with a translation of the above phrase - I can't make any sense of it!

does not hesitate to offer up his own

I would go for a looser interpretation of "non rinuncia".

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Difficult to choose between the answers, but I think "doesn't hesitate" goes beyond the basic translation and is what's really meant. I stayed with "create" though."

does not forgo creating his own

Zavagno doesn't simply endeavour to copy nature's basic principles but strive to create his own
