Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Wilsonn Perez Reyes, Taña Dalglish, philgoddard

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Wilsonn Perez Reyes Mar 3, 2019:
"Construction manager" would be the correct translation for "gerente de construcciones". And this should not be a PRO question. It should be reclassificated as non-PRO.
Rachel Fell Mar 3, 2019:
Well, yes, could be. Context not very generous.
Taña Dalglish Mar 3, 2019:
Thanks Rachel. Not? Techint Group is composed of six main companies in the following areas of business: engineering, construction, steel, mining, oil & gas, industrial plants, healthcare. What threw me was the lower case "t", and I was too lazy to even Google the term. LOL!
Rachel Fell Mar 3, 2019:
@ Taña: Probably not this: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techint
Taña Dalglish Mar 2, 2019:
@ carogq BTW, what is "techint"? Insufficent context.

GLOSSARY ENTRY (DERIVED FROM QUESTION BELOW)
English term or phrase: (area) construction manager
Spanish translation: jefe (de área) de construcción

I see nothing so far in the text to suggest that the person is an "engineer" of any kind (ingeniero).

civil engineer

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.[1][2] Civil engineering is traditionally broken into a number of sub-disciplines. It is considered the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering,[3] and it is defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering.[4] Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
