English term or phrase: no strain, no gain
I am transcribing an audio file in which the speaker talks about French words and expressions that are commonly used in English. One example is a French proverb which is the equivalent of: No strain, no gain/ No pain, no gain in English. I think the second part is: .............sans écrite but I'm not sure. I need help to complete the French expression.
