English term

fibro-adipose vascular anomaly

English to French Medical Medical (general) Rare diseases/Vascular anomaly
Fibro-adipose vascular anomaly (FAVA) is a rare, but painful, vascular anomaly in which a significant portion of a muscle in one of a child's limbs is taken over by tough, fibrous, fatty tissue. In addition to muscle tissue changes, FAVA can also cause abnormalities in the veins or lymphatic vessels.
Part of the PIK3CA-Related Overgrowth Spectrum.
Symptoms include pain, enlargement of the limb or other area of the body, stiffness, decreased range of motion, firm to the touch, abnormal skin - bluish tint or large, visible veins.

FR "anomalie hyperplasie vasculaire fibroadipeuse" only gets 7 hits on Google, therefore I would like to get a confirmation from you as professionals, or a better solution if it exists.

The Wikipedia article in English (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibro-adipose_vascular_anomaly... has no French equivalent, only Portuguese.

FR "hyperplasie fibroadipeuse" (EN "fibroadipose hyperplasia") seems to be more commonly used as a term, but is it 100% the same thing?

Thank you for your help.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.
