Me-too drugs can be broadly defined as chemically related to the prototype, or other chemical compounds which have an identical mechanism of action.

Me-too drugs sind Medikamente, welche sich nur unwesentlich von bereits etablierten und früher zugelassenen Arzneimitteln unterscheiden. Beispiele entsprechender Arzneimittelgruppen sind die ACE-Hemmer, die SSRI und die Statine. Solche Gruppen können jedoch auch als Folge einer parallelen Entwicklung bei verschiedenen pharmazeutischen Unternehmen entstehen. Me-too drugs stellen in einigen Fällen eine unnötige finanzielle Belastung für die Prämienzahler dar. Sie können aber auch relevante pharmakodynamische oder pharmakokinetische Vorteile aufweisen.

No  Steffen Walter: Könntest du die Antwort bitte nochmal neu einstellen? Da sind ja gleich zwei Fehler im Begriff (Bindestrich fehlt, ein E zuviel). "Me-too-Drug" ist im Dt. wenig geläufig, die von dir auch genannten "Me-too-Präparat" und "Nachahmerpräparat" dagegen schon.
