In my opinion, 'hormonal cancer treatment' sounds like 'treatment for hormonal cancer'. I prefer 'hormone-based/hormonal therapy'.

Sorry to dissent with your argument regarding 'hormonal' sounding like 'moody' as in 'a moody adolescent'. It can't be understood as 'moody' in the context of the descriptive modifiers pattern "hormonal cancer treatment" where elements are interrelated and can't point at any other meaning that is not in the logico-semantic relationship being held between elements within that pattern. As regards 'cancer therapy', it makes sense to use this as a set phrase and I opt for that to be included within the patterm. Thank you

The issue here is not one of "accuracy" and I consider it to be merely stylistic. As I see it, to all intents and purposes both "hormone-based cancer treatment" and "hormonal cancer treatment" are synonymous. However, I'd pay attention to Liz's comment that "therapy" seems to be the set phrase normally used in the context.

As a native English speaker, I wouldn't use "hormonal", it sounds like that whatever it is modifying 'has trouble controlling its hormones' (because we might say, for example, a teenager is "hormonal" if they are very moody).
"hormone therapy" works fine, "hormone-based" as well, and I'd say they are equally accurate.
Having said that, ppl certainly use "hormonal therapy":

Hi Neilmac, thanks for your answer. And what difference does it make to use "hormone-based cancer treatment" as opposed to "hormonal cancer treatment". Are both equally accurate? Or is the former more accurate than the latter ? And why? Thanks

As a native English speaker, I wouldn't expect to hear or use "anti-cancer". Colloquially, we talk about cancer treatment. I might use something like "hormone-based cancer treatment", which would be a hormonal therapy to treat cancer, as in Liz's response.

I'm aiming at a one AdjG complex such as "hormonal cancer treatment" deprived of infinitive form "to treat" and following the descriptive modifiers pattern. Based on that, is "hormonal cancer treatment" more accurate than "hormonal anticancer treatment" and why?
