Spanish term or phrase: cuando el sol para ti ya no salga...
I would like to know the best translation of this phrase from European Spanish into American English.

Colleagues from Latin America, feel free to send me your suggestions as well. This is from the Spanish Song "Recuérdame" from Camilo Sesto.

Is okay to translate it as remember me as when the sun doesn't come out for you any longer?

Here is the full paragraph for your review:

When the sun stops rising for you

neutral  Stephanie Ament: A less wordy version that keeps the sense of "ya no salga" might be "when the sun ceases to rise for you." It's formalized language, but that can work really lovely in song lyrics.

Asker: Thanks Miss Wilson. The English suggestion when the sun no longer shines for you is better than when the sun doesn't come out for you any longer? Please let me know. The singer of this song is from Spain as well.

Asker: The name of the singer is Camilo Sesto. He passed away in the year 2019.

Asker: Thanks again for your help. What do you mean with DEP Camilo?

Asker: I got it Miss Wilson, yes he passed away in September 2019. He sang in The UK before and he recorded some of his songs there. Thanks for your help. Yes, he is resting in peace.

neutral  Stephanie Ament: I agree that this is very idiomatic, and close enough to the sense to convey the feeling. The author restricted the question but see my comment to Andrew. Just another possible option. :)

when the sun no longer brightens your day

Explanation:
In times when you feel gloomy or sad.

"When Sun shines, it not only brightens our day; it enlightens us, our soul, cleansing it of the gloominess that the night's darkness had brought in."
