Bonjour,

Je traduis un manuel pour une tondeuse radiocommandée, et dans la partie consistant à définir le sens des voyants d'état, il y a "unsafe service mode had been activated", je n'ai malheureusement aucune autre information, "unsafe service" n'apparaissant nulle part ailleurs.

Je pensais éventuellement à "Le mode Utilisation dangereuse a été activé" ou "Le mode Fonctionnement dangereux a été activé", mais je ne suis pas convaincue.

Le symbole correspondant au sens du voyant est un point d'exclamation, ce qui n'aide pas davantage :(

seule idée qui me vient encore à l'esprit, qu'il y ait des lampes/voyants verts en état sécurisé qui s'allument en rouge, donc sont activés lorsque le mode n'est pas/plus sécurisé.
Plus finalement "endland" = une erreur OCR (ou reste du traitement de texte)

The problem is you are conflating two different meanings of 'service'
And do note that in EN, 'unsure' is NOT a synonym for 'unsafe'!
'field' is not part of the issues here.

'Field Service Mode" is not the same as 'Unsafe service mode'. Maintening is not always unsure, resp. 'unsafe'.

I think you are getting confused by the way you are parsing the EN source text.
It seems to me that logically this is referring to a special 'service mode' — in such a mode, many safety features / interlocks etc. may have been defeated to allow testing and repair, which means that this 'service mode' is potentially 'unsafe'.
However, unlike other contributors here, I do believe that 'service' is vital here and cannot just be omitted — some people seem to think it is part of 'fonctionnement', but I believe this is the other kind of service, i.e. 'entretien' etc.

Le système/dispositif de sécurité n'est pas défaillant, il a été désactivé ! Mais à mon avis ce texte n'est pas très fiable en terme de qualité, je ne crois pas que l'on puisse dire "...had been activated", "has been" ok mais "had been" !!
Pour un voyant on dirait plutôt "erreur" ou "anomalie", ou simplement "sécurité", surtout si c'est un voyant rouge !

Oui, mais "Le système de sécurité a été désactivé" n'a pas le même sens que "Unsafe service mode has been activated". Sinon, le fabricant aurait écrit quelque chose comme "the safety system has been deactivated".

Je pense que s'agissant d'un appareil mécanique le terme "sécurité" doit apparaitre, du genre « Le système de sécurité a été désactivé ! ». Et cela enlèverait l'idée que le constructeur a intégré la possibilité d'utiliser la tondeuse de manière délibéremment dangereuse !
