Danish term

..., som de ikke ved, hvor de skal gå hen med.

Danish to English Medical Medical (general) deaf-blind issues
Sorry, forgive the pun, but my eyes are now blind to what they're looking at. Could anyone please confirm whether I'm on the right lines with this:
De lever med en ussikkerhed omkring arvelighed i forhold til egne børn og børnebørn, som de ikke ved, hvor de skal gå hen med.
Referring to hereditary Usher Syndrome.
It's the last part of the sentence I'm confused by - does it mean ...grandchildren who they don't know whether they will inherit it ??. Or something similar.
Advice appreciated!

Peer comment(s):

agree Christine Andersen : Good suggestion. The Danish is often used about not knowing where to find help and advice - or understanding and impartial help (here beyond what the family can offer in the situation, in confidence etc.) But is is often 'vague' like this.
