Together Through Life, his first studio album since 2006, sits in the top slot on both sides of the Atlantic after scoring a UK number one on Sunday.

More context:
Dylan tops the US Billboard chart. Dylan's album sold 125,000 copies in its first week on release in the US. Veteran musician Bob Dylan has topped the US album chart for the fifth time with his 33rd studio album. Together Through Life, his first studio album since 2006, sits in the top slot on both sides of the Atlantic after scoring a UK number one on Sunday. Modern Times, the 67-year-old icon's last studio album, also entered the Billboard 200 chart in pole position.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Is in No 1 position in both the US & UK

both sides of the Atlantic =US & UK in this context since they specifically mention the Billboard chart in US and "scoring a UK number one" =UK alone.

agree writeaway : both sides of the pond is another expression used. definitely means UK and US here, not US and EU

"on both sides of the Atlantic" refers to the United States and Europe
Note from asker:

many thanks Phil
disagree Yvonne Gallagher : This is really wrong in the context. Only the US (Canada not included) & UK

agree Jennifer Caisley : Agree - but I'd also say the UK specifically, rather than Europe more broadly

neutral writeaway : answer is definitely wrong in this context. consider this a kinder, gentler disagree

the highest spot on the charts

In my opinion 'sitting on the top slot' , an expression that was and could have been used to describe the album's position on the charts previously only in the US ,but is now taken to a higher level of growth due to the albums mastery of the UK charts too, being in the number one position in 'both sides of the Atlantic'.
