L'agent d'intervention en matériel informatique a pour fonction d'installer des systèmes micro-informatiques et leurs périphériques matériels et logiciels (réseaux inclus), de les faire évoluer, de les dépanner, tant en atelier que sur site. Il peut être en mesure de réaliser un premier diagnostic sur l'origine des problèmes En outre, il est capable de conseiller, d'assister les utilisateurs en direct ou par le biais d'une 'Hot-Line'.
Il peut également être chargé d'activités annexes telles que la réalisation de devis, factures et rapports d'interventions.
La fourchette des responsabilités va de :
- Agent de maintenance en atelier ou en clientèle sous la direction d'un responsable Technique (SAV et Installation)
- Assistance d’un responsable technique dans la gestion d’un parc micro
- Technico-commercial.
