Customer evangelists are vocal consumers who come from all walks of life. What they share in common is that they gush with enthusiasm online about their favorite products and services -- perhaps even yours. Ben McConnell and Jackie Huba coined the phrase in their 2002 breakthrough marketing book, "Creating Customer Evangelists: How Loyal Customers Become a Volunteer Sales Force," a must-read for today's marketers.

Alain, thanks for the link, I like Customer Evangelist. I also saw "Ambassador", what do you think of it ?
The customer does not get any money for recommending the brand and there's nothing official like a contract between him and the brand. It's a spontaneous process like when someone asks you "do you know a good dentist?" and you give him the name of your dentist. You will earn nothing from the dentist. Hope this clarifies my question
