French term

chroniques en plateau

French to English Other Media / Multimedia Broadcasting
Description of someone's functions in a TV broadcasting studio.... I think this is basically something like "studio reports" but would be nice if someone with broadcasting knowledge could give me the correct term.

Thanks

studio current affairs (presenting, etc.)

I always find 'chronique' used in this sort of way rather tricky, but I think this is probably pretty much what we'd use in a similar EN context.

'current affairs' not 'news', as 'chroniques' can cover all sorts of programme styles, inclduing in-depth and magazine-style reporting, reportages, etc. So I think a fairly generall, all-encompassing term is what is needed here, and 'current affairs' springs to mind, as being different from (e.g.) 'drama' or 'light entertainment' or 'documentary'.
Note from asker:
Thank you kind Sir, a succinct and accurate description of what I was looking for.

neutral Tony M : I think 'items' is too general — that might cover home shopping, variety acts, quiz shows... lots of things falling outside the scope of 'chroniques'
