French term

DAO

French to English Tech/Engineering Names (personal, company) Document originates in Gabon
In a list of personnel proposed for a project of refurbishing petroleum storage tanks, I have "1 Chef de chantier, 1 *DAO*, 1 Instrumentiste".

The only results I get for DAO are: "Dossier adapte a l‘ouvrage" and "dessin assisté par ordinateur". Is there a person behind DAO too?

Dessinateur assisté par ordinateur

Given the context, I think this is one of the only likelihoods. While not the usual use of DAO, it is sometimes used (see below). (The other possibility could have been Directeur des Appels D'offres (not very common either) but it doesn't fit the context with the other two jobs).

see :

"Je me suis d’abord dirigé vers les Bâtiments et Travaux Publics (BTP), mais beaucoup d’offres d’emploi étaient orientées vers le métier de dessinateur assisté par ordinateur (DAO)."
