Building technology
"LV 03 (ALT) LOS 08 HLSK + MSR (Original-Mengen)"
There is literally no context for this. It's from a test translation that seemed to be about floor drain assemblies, but this random line was thrown in, which seems to be about HVAC, and after spending a day on a very short translation, I have finally figured out that it deals with building technology in general, so it all fits together somehow, but that wasn't exactly apparent at first. At any rate, through help on this forum and my own research, I have figured out that:
LV = Leistungsverzeichnis
LOT = lot or batch
NLSK = HVAC
MSR probably means "Mess-, Steuer- und Regelungstechnik"
But I'm still not sure about ALT. I wonder if it's just an abbreviation for alternative. Does this look familiar to anyone?

"old" makes not really sense to me if this specification is new, even if it replaces an old one.
LV 03 (Original) may be followed by LV (ALT) 03 for a different approche, solution or different materials, types or performances. Please check the content of specifications (LV).

Discussion
I a.m. therefore surprised to see that it has been entered into the KudoZ glossary.
In linguistics, the grammar (from Ancient Greek γραμματική grammatikḗ) of a natural language is its set of structural constraints on speakers' or writers' composition of clauses, phrases, and words.
