Hello. When I looked up ≒ in the "symbol" area of MS Word, it said "Approximately equal to..." I am not sure what the rest of it said. But I do remember ≈ from math class, as meaning approximately equal to. In the MS Word symbol area, it says "almost equal to" next to ≈.
