Japanese term

冠称

Japanese to English Law/Patents Human Resources
The term appears in a list of violations for which an employee can be fired:

私事に会社の名を冠称して、会社に迷惑、損害を及ぼしたとき

I cannot find a definition of 冠称 anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please ignore grammar mistake in my previous sentence.
humbird Jun 17, 2008:
I've never come across this expression either. As such this must be a recent invention (so does not appear in orthodox dictionaries yet). I believe this is a typo of 詐称. Please look up dictionaries by this. You can well could replace 冠称 with this.

I saw this thread, but I don't see how it is related.

prefix / under the name of

I agree with cinefil-san regarding what 冠称 means in this case, and 会社の名を冠称して can be "under the name of the company".

Also, "prefix" is an alternative for this, as 冠称 is generally used to add some part (usually a name) *before* another term like the following examples show:

"それらの町は「下谷坂本町」「下谷三の輪町」というように「下谷」を冠称した。"

"駅名の由来となった「西新井」という地名はそれ自体で一単語であって、「新井」という地名に「西」を冠称した複合語ではない。" (ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/西新井駅)
