Japanese term
切皮
Japanese to English
Medical
Medical: Health Care
Acupuncture and moxibustion
This seems to be an acupuncture technique that involves pricking the skin without inserting the needle.
Have seen it written as the romanized 'seppi' but wonder whether there is a Chinese or English term.

piercing the skin
I think it would depend on context. If it's used as "切皮弾入" I'd consider using "Seppi" to name the technique of stage thereof. If not I'd go with "piercing the skin" or "breaking the skin" (by tapping before insertion).

Thanks for your suggestions. I finally settled for seppi followed by the gloss (rapid pricking followed by immediate withdrawal) |
