Example sentences:
- See more at:

!Kalkyl! often = 'costing' in business and accounting for production, valuation and such. This is a hard topic to work with -- especially use word types...
This quote is from the first reference below:
...we can see the variation that the range in life cycles can have on the Net Present Value. Assuming the initial product cost is £10,000 and with a 15, 20 and 25-year life respectively to replacement, the Net Present Value (NPV) over a 45-year costing period is... (P13)

Perhaps a total rethink is in order here, since we are quite close, but not really satisfied -- one with the other...
check this reference for 'forecast period' to see what you think (http://www.investopedia.com/university/dcf/). There are many more references out there for 'cash flow valuation' + 'forecast period'. This is one more usage for 'kalkyl' used in finance and many other contexts that I neglected to mention.
A separate answer at this stage should be unnecessary.

: Your ref. is for a diff. context. This Swenglish translation also perpetuates a Nordic/European misconception that kalkyl = calculation always. Many Swe translations confuse 'kalkyl' this way but it is more often ‘estimate’, ‘costing’, and others.

I would rather say that many translators who lack training in accounting fail to understand the difference between "costing" and "cash flow".

: QED is overstating it. I'd say simply "time period"
