Discussion

vigodifassa (asker) Jan 11, 2006:
avstyckad grd Thank you very much for your answer. It's actually a property subdivided and sold.
Charlesp Jan 11, 2006:
interesting! Is this a farmhouse where the actual farm has been sold off, leaving the farmhouse (and a little garden), OR is it the property that has been subdivided and sold. (Actually an avstyckad grd is farmhouse with the land.)

outparcelled farmhouse

disagree Suzanne Blangsted (X) : The house is being build/constructed on the farm/land that is being parceled.

parceled land/farm

my suggestion
Peer comment(s):

agree Christine Andersen : supported by Helle Pals Frandsen's dictionary. BLANGSTED's spelling is correct in the US; in Europe it is spelt parcelled

thanks Christine
disagree Sven Petersson : No, it's just the opposite; it's a farmhouse that has been separated from (most of) the farm land.

it is the land that is parceled to build the house on
agree George Hopkins : Parcelled. In my disctionary it's parcelled. Whoops - in my dictionary it is not disctionary.

Found this: http://www.wordwebonline.com/en/PARCEL. Spelling parceled (US) or parcelled are both acceptable
agree asptech : should that be with one or two "l"'s?

thanks. You can find the explanation to one or two "l" in the URL I gave to George.

subdivided property

and in this case, farmland that is subdivided

I would withdraw this answer, as I now think it is wrong.
I relied too much on what the asker wrote. THe subdivided property is what has been sold off, leaving the avstyckad gård.

I change the answer:

A farmhouse with most of the farmland having been subdivided off.

A simple translation, and used by estate agents/real property firms what be 'farm house,' though I prefer 'farmhouse.'
