Applied computing
I praktiken is used when the lecture involves learning by doing, rather than by reading about how it is done. In English, these classes are usually referred to as applied.

: "Practical" means "praktisk" in the sense of useful/användbar or suitable to a purpose/ändamålsenlig. Doesn't express the opposition to "in theory" strongly enough.

Computing in Real-Life Applications
Just a suggestion. "I praktiken" means something like "in real-life contexts as distinct from theory" - it is strongly opposed to "in theory".
There may be some better formulation.

hands-on computing (training) course
If this is a practical course, maybe in the evening, then this term might be better. But not for a highbrow university course
