Swedish to English Law/Patents Transport / Transportation / Shipping motorcycle tires

Patent of distance element, an item applied to the rim of a tire, makes several references to "däckfötter." As far as I can determine, this refers to the parts of the rubber tire that are on the inside, curve inward, and are attached to the rim of the wheel. The literal translation of this word would be "feet of the tire," but I wonder if there's a better term that would apply in English. Suggestions, anyone? Summary reads in part:

"Distanselement som är ämnat att sättas fast på en fälg innanför ett däck, varvid fälgen innefattar två stycken flänsar på varsin sida om en bas och varvid flänsarna omsluter _däckfötterna_."
