Hello everyone

I am trying to open a package, but during the import process (after specifying the file location) I get the following error message:

"Could not find part of the path 'C:\Users\Administrator\Document\SDL Trados Studio\Translation Memories\de_en-gb.sdltm'."

Then the process just stops and all I can do is cancel it.
The path mentioned does not exist on my PC at all, the structure is completely different.

I had packages from this client before and never had a problem.
I really need to start working on this so I am getting very desparate now...

Any ideas?

Thanks

SP version Nov 26, 2010

I had the same problem and it was due to the client sending the project in a later SP version than what I had. The only solution I found was to upgrade.

If you find a different solution please post it as I am now afraid of accepting any jobs for Studio without first confirming the SP version and find it quite unfair to have to continuously upgrade.

Studio 2009 - cannot open package, error "could not find part of the path" Jan 17, 2011

Actually I have the same problem but my version of Trados Studio 2009 is up to date.
I think the problem is because the program "somewhere" saves the path to previous project (or package).
I hope this will be solved in the next SP.
For now the only way out is to create a path the program cannot find itself

Studio 2009 - cannot open package, error "could not find part of the path" Jan 17, 2011

It seems I have foud a solution (maybe it is working only in my case).
I have moved the package I want to open to another folder and opened it from there. And it worked for me!

I've tried changing the location but the error message keeps appearing. Does anyone have any other ideas how to remove the need to reference the last job done in Studio?

Usually means that the package is not complete, some mistake occurred while creating the package - ask them to make sure the package can be opened on their side. Have them repackage it for a version of Trados compatible with yours. Just a couple of thoughts. If everything worked fine before, it’s at least possible the error is on their side.
