I was born in Hannover, Germany - the city where people speak "proper" German (or so they say!). Most of my life I have lived either in the UK or Saudi Arabia though, and I consider myself bilingual in German/English. I have an MA in German and English from the Freie Universität Berlin, where I specialised in Linguistics.
Over the last 20 years I have held a number of senior management positions, for example Director of the International Office at Bath Spa University, and Head of International Sales, for the Financial Times Recruitment Solutions. This valuable industry experience, combined with my educational background, provides an excellent background for quality translations.
As a native German speaker living abroad I regularly take on translation projects and have recently decided to become a full-time freelancer in this field.
