My name is Rodrigo, and I have been producing professional
translations since 2014.
Since 2020, I have been collaborating regularly with translations and
post-editing for website and e-learning content, product user manuals, agreements
(including T&Cs), knowledge bases and UI localizations for clients such as
Salesforce, Microsoft, Adobe, Rabobank, Samsung, Leica, Polygon, ConsenSys, P00LS,
Ruijie Networks and Revolut.
Also in 2020, I worked on the Brazilian Portuguese localization of Studio
ZAUM’s heavy-text detective RPG Disco Elysium (published on several
platforms in December 2020).
During my 10 years of professional activity at the Brazilian National
Archives and the National Library Foundation, I have amassed in-house
experience with technical translations in the fields of information science,
information technology, records management, digital records preservation and
trustworthy digital repositories.
I am familiar with subtitling/captioning tools such as Sonix,
CaptionHub and Subtitle Edit. Between 2021 and 2022, I produced captions in
Brazilian Portuguese for the creator content platform Jellysmack. I am also
familiar with the key standards and guidelines used around the industry, such
as the BBC Academy Subtitle Guidelines, Netflix Timed Text Style Guide, Amazon
Prime Video Timed Text Requirements, FCC Closed Captioning Requirements and
DCMP Captioning Key.
I am attaching two small samples of my work, consisting of a
translation of a letter by American author Philip K. Dick, written in 1981 and
published as a Preface to Volume 1 of his Collected Short Stories (copyright by
The Estate of Philip K. Dick, 1987); and the Brazilian Portuguese subtitles
produced for BBC’s Arena 1994 documentary about the life and work of Philip K.
Dick, entitled “A Day in the Afterlife”. You can read the translation in the
files attached and check the subtitles here: https://youtu.be/obfO9W6rq50.
I hope we can work together soon.
