I've registered to 2 free webinars in the last weeks and, before the event began, I downloaded and installed the software needed as directed (Goto Webinar). I checked all the settings and I had no error messages of any kind; however, I wasn't able to hear sounds at all.

I have speakers and mic connected to my system, and during the webinar I could hear sounds from other software applications, but not the speaker's voice. I couldn't even reproduce the test sounds before the webinar started, therefore I attended the webinar by watching images only... and I didn't understand much.
Can someone tell me where is the problem and how to solve it?
Thanks a lot.

Possible solution for no audio in webinars Mar 23, 2011

Dear Giuliana,

Thanks for letting us know. I am sorry to hear this happened to you in the last webinars.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, the problem can be related to the system volume for the GoToWebinar application. These OS have the option to set volume per application and no matter what you do in the application itself, it will not work until you set it right from the system volume.

To fix this go to your system tray and click on the volume icon and make sure that the volume for this application is not muted or is high enough.

If you are using Windows XP or Mac, please open a support request at www.proz.com/support . It will be necessary that technical staff troubleshoots this with you from your machine.

Please let me know it goes.

Best regards,

Soledad

No sound at all Mar 23, 2011

The webinar is under way right now and still I can hear no sounds from the speakers.
I use Windows 7 and I've checked audio settings in the system tray icon: the volume for the application is 100%, but it doesn't work. Another silent webinar...

GoToWebinar support staff should look into this case Mar 23, 2011

Dear Giuliana,

I am sorry to hear this.

I contacted support staff with your case, and since this is not working, they will need to look at your case individually. I am sorry I can't be of more help, as they have to be connected with you in order to see what's wrong and how to fix it. I will email you the details to do so.

Regards,

Soledad
