NORA (normalized residual activity) Explanation: A guess... http://jnm.snmjournals.org/cgi/reprint/43/1/33.pdf -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 mins (2010-06-16 21:59:46 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://lib.bioinfo.pl/auid:1489067 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 18 mins (2010-06-16 22:01:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Normalized residual activity and output efficiency in case of early furosemide injection in children. Cécile Nogarède, Marianne Tondeur, Amy Piepsz Department of Radioisotopes, CHU St Pierre, Brussels, Belgium. OBJECTIVE: Values for output efficiency (OE) and** normalized residual activity (NORA) in paediatric patients ** have been published previously. However, it is now a usual practice to inject furosemide at the beginning of a renogram acquisition (F0 procedure). The aim was to evaluate OE and NORA obtained on F0 renograms, in normal and abnormal paediatric kidneys. METHODS: Three groups of kidneys were selected: group 1, normal kidneys (n=155); group 2, dilated but unobstructed kidneys (n=20); and group 3, hydronephrotic kidneys (n=84). A 20-min Tc-mercaptoacetyltriglycine renogram was obtained under early furosemide injection (F0) and was completed by late postmicturition (PM) images. OE and NORA were calculated at the end of the renogram and on the PM images. RESULTS: Group 1: NORA and OE calculated at the end of the F0 renogram revealed better drainage than without F0 stimulation. |

norA Explanation: Most likely, this is -> norA (a genetic mutation of the bacterial strain). see as refs.: http://www.antibiotika-forum.de/Ewig et al_CTJ_1_2002.pdf http://www.p-e-g.org/publikationen/ctj/0399/UEBER.PDF Es geht bei den Streptokokken mit norA speziell um eine chromosomal kodierte Effluxpumpe (= Chinolonresistenz) -> http://www.wissenschaftliche-verlagsgesellschaft.de/CTJ/CTJ2... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2010-06-17 03:55:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, es geht um Staphylokokken bei dieser Art der Resistenz, nicht Streptokokken! Mein confidence level korrigiere ich hiermit von 4 auf 2! :-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2010-06-17 03:57:06 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Außerdem ist die Platzierung vorn mit dem Doppelpunkt eher seltsam in dieser Aufstellung. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2010-06-17 04:04:51 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- NORA müsste eine Abkürzung für einen Abstrich sein (im Gegensatz zur Blutkultur) - würde jetzt gern das Obenstehende löschen ... -, und zwar mit "oropharynx" o.ä., bzw. R -> Rachen. (s. S. 95: http://www.medlab-pdm.de/filesv/mlp_handbuch.pdf ) also: Nasen-(Mund-)Rachen-Abstrich, maybe *nasal - oral - respiratory? swab* |
