English term or phrase: lifting latches
Transport of a column.

If the transport is done with a fork-lift truck, then the column is bolted on a (wooden) transport pallet.
If the transport is done with a crane, then the four lifting latches on top are used with hexagon head bolts.

comment comprenez-vous lifting latches ? Peut-on mettre crochets élévateurs ? ça me semble bizarre.

crochets de levage avec linguet (de sécurité)

Explanation:
Il me semble qu'on parle plutôt de "lifting hooks with latch".. A confirmer..

The main element of the response is "de levage". For "latches", see http://www.btb.termiumplus.gc.ca/tpv2alpha/alpha-eng.html?la... see the rest of the text or look for a diagram

neutral  Tony M: On the face of it, certainly agree with 'de levage'; however, I think it is slightly risky to translate 'latch' as 'crochet', especially since the things usually used for lifting are lugs, eyes, or loops — hooks being rare.
