Spanish term

evidencia Ib

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Treating trauma patients
Hi Kudozers,

Latin Sp >> US English.

This comes from a refresher course on dealing with polytrauma patients. The patient is now hospitalised and this section refers to managing spinal cord injuries.

It appears exactly like that, not "ib." but "Ib" with no full stop. Is it just here to represent "ibidem"?? There is no mention of classifying evidence into groups, Ia, Ib, etc.... or the like.

My only other thought that could go here from the context is "anecdotal evidence", i.e., not from a controlled trial, but that seems to be stretching it.

Thanks for any help.

Fvas and Cinnamon Thanks to both of you for your rapid assistance and shame on me for not investigating one of my own suspicions! Time is of the essence (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!) ;@)

IB level evidence

There is indeed a system for classification of evidence into groups (several, in fact), and this one is quite widely used: http://hsl.lib.umn.edu/biomed/help/levels-evidence-and-grade...
