Portuguese term

Estava a ver...

Portuguese to English Other Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Subtitles
'Também suspeitas de mim?
Não.
Estava a ver...'

This is a bit like 'you scared me' in English. The closest would be: 'Do you suspect me? No. Thought you did (or thought you might)'.

But somehow it doesn't feel right. I'm looking for a more idiomatic expression that would give this idea, if there is one...

Thanks in advance for your help!

@ Vitor É mesmo isso!
Vitor Pinteus Apr 28, 2015:
Roy Frenkiel Apr 28, 2015:
"I was just wondering" or simply "Just wondering" makes more sense, yes.
David Hollywood Apr 28, 2015:
"I was just wondering" sounds right
Tania Pires (asker) Apr 28, 2015:
Tania Pires (asker) Apr 28, 2015:
Clauwolf Apr 28, 2015:
Isso Paulinho, como "I was just wondering..."
Paulinho Fonseca Apr 28, 2015:
@Tania,
o texto expressa a ideia de 'I was just...'

Seems like (you do).../It seems like (you do)...

Eu diria só "Seems like..."
Note from asker:
"It seems like it" faz mais sentido, mas é uma boa sugestão. Obrigada!

Yeah, right

I understand that the person saying "estava a ver" is the same who asked "Are you suspicious of me?" In such case, it may be an ironic answer, such as:

"Why, don't you trust me?"
"Of course, I do!"
"Yeah, right..." or "It didn´t look like [you did] to me/from where I stand
Note from asker:
Thanks Roy, that's the exact idea, but 'yeah, right' seems a little vague, I like your second suggestion better but I need a shorter version for subtitles. Maybe 'It didn't look like it'? :)
Peer comment(s):

neutral Andrew Bramhall : 'Yeah, right' is fine if you can reproduce the ironic sarcasm in writing that it has in speech;
