French term

/t à

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Programmers'/engineers' jargon?
From a description of the procedures and utilities used to program a specialised device.

"Cet outil permet de mettre à jour facilement (/t à l’anti-piratage) les [XYZ] en phase de développement. Cet outil ne doit pas être utilisé par d’autres équipes "

Any thoughts? Possibly based on the sound of the "/" symbol's name with "-tez/ter/té" added?

Discussion

Martin Cassell (asker) Oct 12, 2010:
typo ... well the document is pretty low on typos/mutilations, but then again there are are no other similar occurrences.

perhaps destined to remain a mystery as there is not necessarily access to original authors.
Martin Cassell (asker) Oct 12, 2010:
hmmm ... "contrairement à l'anti-piratage" would make some sense

("we know this contravenes our guidelines on anti-piracy measures, but hey, it's a very useful development tool" -- hence no sharing, even within the company.)
Catharine Cellier-Smart Oct 12, 2010:
One wonders if a letter is not missing before the slash ... ?
Tony M Oct 12, 2010:
Just wondered... ...if it could possibly mean 'contrairement à..' — with / in the sense of 'contre', and I have just occasionally seen -t used to indicate the adverbial -ment ending.

Alternatively, could it be 'par rapport à'?

Neuilly/Seine

On the strength of the above being read Neuilly sur Seine, "/t à l'anti-piratage" would give sur tée à l'anti-piratage or sûreté à l'anti-piratage, an anti-pirating guarantee ....

No, I don't really think it's that. More likely a typo, omission, etc.
Note from asker:
yes, well, that crossed my mind too (probberly thinking of 8 chats sur 10), but it is stretching things a bit, isn't it?
