If it's about the stone (as the Asker confirmed), in Wordreference "brut" means:
rough/uncut (pierre précieuse) - raw is used for material like cotton or silk - untreated is used for cotton. Of course all this is according to Wordeference.

: I was going to suggest "uncut", but I'm not sure that it refers to the stone here. It's the "pièce" (presumably the jewellery before it receives the stones) that's "brute".

Maybe "la pièce à parer" here is the stone itself, and not the "monture" (the frame?) in which the stone goes. To be confirmed.

This is a suggestion. I would have gone with "uncut" but it doesn't appear to be referring to the stones here. It's the piece itself that is brute, so presumably unfinished.

I am not sure if this referring to the stone itself or the (presumably) metal setting of the piece. Anyway this word can be used for metals such as silver or gold and various other materials, and I have seen it at times used for stones, such as in example below:
