Swedish term

börsklippare

No particular context that explains Weil's activities further.

I _guess_ that a "börsklippare" is a person who, from time to time, makes a lot of money at the stock exchange by (opportunistically and speculatively) buying and selling shares. Someone correct me on this...

player on the stock market

Your guess is correct, Thomas. "Börsklippare" is a person who plays the stock market in order to make quick profits.
Example sentence:

If you are a new player on the stock market, you should know that things aren't always nice and shiny when it comes to stock trading.

In the 1930s Rydge became the leading individual 'player' on the stock market through Carlton Investments Ltd
