The poll should stay on for 24 hours | Feb 12 |
Or about one Earth revolution.
Otherwise, some time zones and regions could be under-represented.

I have been living in Portugal (my home country) since September 2015, before that I lived in Belgium for 30 years. All my professional life as a translator has been based in Europe. I was based in Africa (Angola) for a few years, but by then my translator's life hadn't started yet...

Surely the massive preponderance of folks based in Europe must be due to the fact that it's mid afternoon there but only 10 AM in North and South America?

Other large languages such as Chinese, Hindi, Arabic…not sure. Sometimes demand is bigger in one direction than the other, e.g. a Chinese translator in the US may have more work than a Chinese translator in China (e.g. US immigration stuff, etc.).
E.g. Africa has a large variety of languages, but many of them are not commercial languages.
