Does anyone have experience to pass test of Court Interpreter in state of New York?
I will be very appreciated if you can share how you prepare the test to pass it.
Any textbook to read or courses to take?

Judging from your writing, I can only say that you will first have to gain much more proficiency in English before attempting to become a court interpreter. That should be your first order of business.

This is the best material I have found to prepare on your own for any interpreter test. You will need plenty of time, months I would say, to cover it all; the sooner you start, the better. It costs less than $200. http://www.acebo.com/

Also, you have NAJIT, in Washington, http://www.najit.org/ close enough so as to go there for one of their workshops. In NY, CUNY has some courses, http://www.york.cuny.edu/conted/certprograms/medical-interpreter and so does NYU, http://www.scps.nyu.edu/areas-of-study/foreign-languages/professional-certificates/ some of the best courses available anywhere but expensive and more time-consuming for their are part of the certifications they offer. Tough admission criteria too.

If you get in touch with the administrator, he might give you the schedule of workshops, orientation, etc. You cannot sign up for certification unless you attend their workshop. At least, this is the procedure in PA.

This link explains the program and how to achieve its certification, however, Anita is asking about how to prepare to take it. Besides being fully bilingual in the languages she chooses, she needs to study, attend workshops and seminars, and practice, lots of practice.

Has someone tried the courses at NYU or CUNY? Did any of these helped?
I am planning to take the FCICE Federal Court Certification next year (written part) and I want to go to one these courses as "help to pass" the test because studying alone might be very difficult for me. BTW I will do it in Spanish.
Besides the web pages, is there any other written material?
