Can a medical interpreter tell me what a Qualified Medical Exam entails? I know it's a medical exam to determine if a patient should be awarded workman's comp. but does the exam procedure itself involve anything special other than detailed questions about the patient's accident? Any information would be greatly appreciated and/or a link the kind of questions asked in an QME spinal injury exam would be great! Thank you

There will be the usual questions about the injury similar to a medical history. Since many workplace injuries are muscular/skeletal, be prepared for a lot of discussion of "how much force" "how much range of motion", twisting, pushing, pressing, and lots of other specific physical actions. Also what the patient does to manage the pain like compresses, over the counter meds, prescriptions, etc. Pretty usual stuff for medical interpreting in my ex

The exact language will of course depend on the injury.
